To develop a financial education tool

Process
As part of a Federal grant project, the Port of Seattle’s Office of Port Jobs needed a tool to accompany classroom financial education to apprentices in the trades. Equipped with a wealth of information but a tight production budget, they asked TsuluWerks for help. During the seven-month production process, TsuluWerks developed an interactive guide that could be used both in the classroom and without facilitation. To understand the audience and how the piece would be used, our team participated in pilot training programs and actively involved real apprentices in the photo shoots.

Product
The resulting Financial Tools for the Trades has been easy to understand, referenced real-world situations, and encouraged apprentices to plan for their financial futures. Within three months, economic development and financial educators across the country were seeking reprints and ways to customize the tool for other industries.
